Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) is an innovative, safe, and sustainable air transportation system that uses electric or hybrid vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft and unmanned aerial systems (UAS) to move people and goods in urban, suburban, and regional environments.
KEY FEATURES
– Innovative aircraft: Uses electric-powered vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft to minimize noise and polluting emissions.
– Autonomous or remote-controlled aircraft: Aircraft are initially piloted, but will evolve towards remotely piloted or fully autonomous systems.
– Digital integration: Relies on new digital low-altitude traffic management infrastructures (U-Space) to coordinate the safe flight of drones and eVTOLs.
USE
• Passenger transport: Local public transport services to quickly connect airports, stations, and city centers.
• Logistics and freight: Rapid delivery of goods, packages, or medical supplies via drones.
Public utility services: Emergency activities, surveillance, environmental monitoring and aerial work
URBAN AIR MOBILITY – UAM
Urban Air Mobility (UAM) is a subsystem of AAM that implements a new air transport system for passengers and cargo in densely populated and built-up urban environments, made possible by eVTOLs.
These aircraft will be piloted or remotely piloted.
